The upcoming "Visiting IntCDC Institutes Networking Program" (ViNe) event offers a behind-the-scene look at the Institute of Aircraft Design (IFB). Prof. Peter Middendorf (PI, and member of the Research Infrastructure and Industry Collaboration Commissions) will kick-off the event with a 30 minutes lecture on fiber composite plastics, additive manufacturing processes and functional integration: Virtual mapping and transfer of technologies into material and structural models using composite simulation. Integration in flying platforms, both UAVs and manned aircraft for eco-efficient flying in aircraft design.

A guided tour of the pilot plant with various manufacturing processes as well as a testing laboratory for material characterization and validation will follow the lecture.

The IntCDC ViNe networking programme aims to promote mutual acquaintance, interdisciplinary exchange and cross-disciplinary understanding between researchers from around eighteen institutes at the University of Stuttgart and one MPI, encompassing architecture, structural engineering, building physics, engineering geodesy, manufacturing and systems engineering, computer science and robotics, and human and social sciences.

The event will take place in person
