Science is not finished until communicated. In order to communicate their own research well, scientists have to leave their comfort zone and learn a different communication style. This workshop deals with the basics of successful outreach with a lot of practical relevance. Topics include strategic communication, target group-oriented key messages and statements within different channels and formats of science communication. All theoretical inputs are applied to your own topics in concrete exercises. There are also case studies, expert feedback and lots of background knowledge.

Content includes:

  1. Strategic communication for your project and your career
  2. Prepare target group-oriented key messages and statements on your own research
  3. Explore different channels and formats of science communication (with a focus on social media)
  4. Preparation for interviews
  5. Dealing with difficult situations, both online and offline
  6. Workbook and documentation on all topics addressed and more
