Tobias Schwinn and Jutta Albus, Junior professor for Resource-efficient Construction at the TU Dortmund, are guest-editing a special issue on "Prefabrication and Modularized Construction" in the open access journals "Sustainability" and "Buildings".
Solving the inherent conflict between increasing productivity in the building sector and reducing the environmental impact of construction is one of the largest challenges of our time. "Prefabrication and Modularized Construction" can play a major role in addressing this challenge. Jutta and Tobias specifically invite interdisciplinary contributions highlighting the multi-faceted ways in which “Prefabrication and Modularized Construction" can help resolve this conflict.
