On behalf of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Oliver Sawodny and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lucio Blandini of the Collaborative Research Centre 1244 (CRC 1244), we are pleased to invite you to the guest lecture by Bart Halaczek, Director of Knight Architects in London.
After the lecture, we invite you to join us for a small get-together. Over snacks and drinks, you will have the opportunity to talk and network with all the participants. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share ideas about the topic and make new cantacts.
Abstract
The lecture will explore the crucial theme of infrastructure adaptability, encompassing a holistic view. It looks at the various aspects of this adaptability and discusses the imperative to adjust our infrastructure to confront the challenges of climate change. It will also address the importance of infrastructure's ability to respond dynamically to the fluctuations and complexities of traffic situations. By considering these dimensions, we can envision a resilient and sustainable infrastructure system that serves the needs of our communities both now and in the future.
Speaker's Profile
Bart Halaczek has 18 years of professional experience in the fields of architecture and civil engineering, with 16 years dedicated to the design of bridges and infrastructures. His expertise is based on more than 50 international projects, including award-winning bridges and regular appearances on competition shortlists. Bart graduated in Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, where he spent three years working in polymer and FRP research.
