We are pleased to announce the overwhelming success of the Advances in Architectural Geometry 2023 conference hosted by the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC at the University of Stuttgart from 4-7 October 2023!
The Advances in Architectural Geometry is a biennial symposium that features theoretical and practical work on new geometrical developments in architecture. AAG has become a reference both in research and in practice and is supported by the direct participation of the most renowned architectural design and engineering offices along with research laboratories.
Welcoming nearly 450 conference attendees and 160 workshop participants from all over the world to explore new perspectives and emerging topics on architectural geometry was truly inspiring. The four days of AAG2023 were filled with 33 groundbreaking paper presentations and six engaging workshops showcasing cutting-edge research in architectural geometry, computational design, simulation and AI in construction.
A particular highlight was the series of stimulating and thought-provoking keynotes held by the following renowned and high-level keynote speakers :
Sigrid Adriaenssens, Princeton University Janet Echelman, Sculptor and Fiber Artist Wolf Mangelsdorf, Buro Happold, University of Applied Arts, Vienna Kazuyo Sejima, SANAA Michael Wimmer, TU Vienna Molly Wright Steenson, Carnegie Mellon University
We are delighted to announce the open access publication of the conference proceedings, which incudes all papers presented at the conference. This comprehensive publication has been expertly edited by the AAG 2023 scientific chair:
Kathrin Dörfler, Technical University Munich Jan Knippers, IntCDC University of Stuttgart Achim Menges, IntCDC University of Stuttgart Stefana Parascho, EPFL Lausanne Helmut Pottmann, TU Wien Thomas Wortmann, IntCDC University of Stuttgart
We express our sincere gratitude not only to all keynote speakers, session speakers, workshop instructors, sponsors, media partners and AAG participants, but also particularly to the paper committee and scientific chair for their invaluable contributions in making this event a full success. Your passion and dedication have truly elevated the conference to new heights.
As hosts, we are immensely proud of the collaborative spirit and knowledge exchange that took place, paving the way for future advancements in architectural geometry. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to foster a vibrant community of architects, engineers, researchers, and innovators.
We are very pleased to announce that the AAG2025 will cross the Atlantic for the first time and will be hosted by our colleagues at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The AAG 2023 has been made possible by the generous support of our sponsors:
