Achim Menges will deliver a keynote on “Rethinking Architecture: Integrative Computational Design and Construction” at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems’ annual retreat 2025.
Based on the research and demonstrator buildings of the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC, the talk will show how the full potential of digital technologies can be used to rethink design and construction in an integrative and interdisciplinary approach, enabling breakthrough innovations for the urgently needed, future-proof and climate-positive transformation of the built environment.
The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems aims at advancing intelligent systems that perceive, learn, and interact. Through fundamental research across computational, physical, and social dimensions, it shapes artificial intelligence and robotics to advance knowledge and benefit society. About 600 people, including scientists, students, technical experts and administrative staff, work together in the dynamic environment of MPI-IS.
