We are happy to introduce the new format IntCDC Brown Bag Sessions (BBS), a series of informal lunchtime meetings open to everyone in the Cluster. Participants can bring their lunch (or “brown bag”) and get in touch with the various members of the IntCDC Management Team to talk about development opportunities, diversity, exchange, data management, communication and much more!
This first BBS together with Division 1 – Research and Transfer – of the University of Stuttgart was very well received by the early career researchers of the Cluster.
Saskia Zocher and Dr. Natascha Verhagen gave an overview of national funding programmes, mainly from the DFG, but also from the federal ministries and foundations relevant to the IntCDC. They also addressed EU funding programmes and other international funding opportunities, which were mainly aimed at postdocs, but were also important for advanced PhD students in terms of raising awareness and timely preparation for applying for funding after completion of the dissertation, as one focus was on ways to fund one's own position.

Research Support Services by Division 1 – Research and Transfer
Ms Zocher and Ms Verhagen gave valuable tips on how to write an application and explained the support available from Division 1. These range from general information on possible funding programmes to support in proposal writing (proofreading, help with budget calculation), contract drafting and negotiation up to the implementation and dissemination.
If you are interested in applying for a funding programme, please contact Ms Zocher or Ms Verhagen with your questions.
Our aim is to provide a forum for exchange without interfering with your already very busy research agenda.
