A link for online participation will follow.\n \nAbstract\nThis talk gives an overview about the robotics and automotive research activities at The University of Western Australia.On the automotive side, this talk covers electric vehicles, EV charging networks, and autonomous driving using Lidar versus deep learning methods. On robotics topics, this talk presents small embedded robots, simulation systems, and humanoid robot research with an outlook to artificial life.\n\nBio\nThomas Bräunl is a Professor at The University of Western Australia where he directs the Renewable Energy Vehicle Project as well as the Robotics&Automation Lab. He performed several EV conversions, established WA's first EV charging network and currently works on autonomous vehicles (cars and boats), as well as on humanoid robots.\nProfessor Bräunl has been a researcher at BASF, Mercedes-Benz, BMW Munich, and BMW Mountain View. He has previously taught at Univ. Stuttgart, Technical Univ. Munich, and Santa Clara University.\n \n
