SUMMARY:Early Career meets Visiting Professor Nayara Sakiyama
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to offer all early career researchers the opportunity to engage in an open experience exchange with our Visiting Professor Nayara Sakiyama on 17 December 2024.\nNayara R.M. Sakiyama is visiting us from the Universidade Federal dos Vales Do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri – UFVJM, Brazil, where she is Associate Professor of High Performance Architecture at the Chair of Thermal Comfort.Nayara holds a PhD from the University of Stuttgart on “Performance-oriented design and assessment of naturally ventilated buildings”.Her area of expertise is the use of simulation and computational tools to study naturally ventilated buildings and energy efficiency for high quality in the built environment by using low-energy devices. She develops testing and monitoring environments for building thermo-energy performance and its components as well as methodologies for measuring heat transfer and evaluating thermal properties of the constructive components used in buildings.To learn more about Nayara R. In this interdisciplinary seminar, Prof. Sakiyama will briefly present aspects of her work. Still, the focus will be on the questions and issues raised by you, the EC participants in this seminar. Each of you will give a 5-minute presentation of your work (at the level you are at). You will have the opportunity to discuss topics related to your own doctoral or post-doctoral research with Prof. Sakiyama in an informal setting.\nYou can also discuss possible career paths and funding or publication opportunities in Brazil, and benefit from Professor Sakiyama’s experience.
