SUMMARY:IntCDC Constructive Conversations //
Parametric Building Platforms and DfMA for the Productisation of Mass Timber Buildings
DESCRIPTION: \nWe are very excited to welcome Oliver David Krieg, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Intelligent City, Vancouver, Canada, to our upcoming Constructive Conversations event on Thursday, 19 May 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.\nJoin us via Webex.\nOliver David Krieg, a former research group leader for digital timber construction at ICD, will give an online expert lecture on Parametric Building Platforms and DfMA for the Productisation of Mass Timber Buildings. \n \nIntelligent City is an urban housing technology company that takes a product and platform-based approach to buildings. As a vertically integrated company, Intelligent City combines mass timber construction, robotic manufacturing, and parametric software to create new ways of building and living. In this presentation, Oliver will discuss how the potentials of computational design thinking and robotic manufacturing have influenced the development of parametric building platforms in the AEC industry. \n\n\nOliver David Krieg is an expert in computational design and digital fabrication in architecture. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Intelligent City in Vancouver, Canada, he is leading the technology development of computational design and digital manufacturing processes for a proprietary high-rise mass timber construction system. This is part of the company's efforts to provide transformative solutions for platform-based, sustainable and affordable urban housing. His work is characterised by an integrative approach to engineering, materials science, sustainability and manufacturing. \n \nAdvanceAEC – Join this and further AdvanceAEC Partner Seminars and receive an AdvanceAEC certificate!\nThis lecture is part of the AdvanceAEC Partner Seminar series. From October 2021 to September 2022 eight Partner Seminars will take place. Partner Seminars focus on cross-sectional and interdisciplinary topics and are open to all network partners. If you attend at least six of the eight seminars, you will receive a certificate of time attendance. You will need to register for this at the beginning of each event. The procedure for this will be briefly explained before each seminar.\nThe access data for this event is available to AdvanceAEC members. All researchers working in the field of AdvanceAEC are welcome to join the network. Please register or log in to access the event credentials.\n
