Investigation Of Cellulose Fibre Composites For Use As Reinforcement in Mineral-Bonded Structural Elements

Marius Klamt (ILEK)

The project investigates the use of cellulose fibers as reinforcement in mineral-bonded structures. It aims to evaluate their mechanical properties and applicability in such matrices. The reinforcement elements are composites of cellulose fibers embedded in a resin matrix. The fibers themselves are manufactured using the HighPerCell® process developed at the German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research Denkendorf (DITF). Mechanical tests will characterize tensile strength, stiffness, and bond behavior. The goal is to determine the mechanical performance and suitability of cellulose-based reinforcement systems for structural mineral[1]bonded components. The project focuses on continuous fiber-reinforced rods as longitudinal reinforcement.
