The presented paper, “Science transfer: From knowledge transfer to industry evolution”, provides the theoretical background for the research on science transfer in IntCDC. It defines science transfer as the process that brings a scientific discovery to large-scale market adoption. Then, a framework for research and practice is developed through integrating the literature on knowledge transfer, technology readiness, technology transfer, organisational scaling, and industry evolution. The framework highlights the roles, resources, and risks associated with each phase of science transfer, as well as the interactions across phases.
