The Stuttgart-based Association for the Promotion of Lightweight Construction (Verein zur Förderung des Leichtbaus e.V.) will award the Stuttgart Lightweight Construction Award, worth 1,500 euros, for the 21st time in 2026. The Award is a prize for students in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, design, aerospace engineering, and mechanical engineering. It is intended to recognize outstanding design projects, research papers, theses, or master’s theses in the field of lightweight construction.
In addition to the traditional disciplines of lightweight construction—such as structural, material, and system lightweight construction—the program also focuses on extended lightweight construction. This approach takes into account energy requirements, all emissions generated over the life cycle, and an object’s recyclability.
The following documents are required for the selection procedure:
- tabular curriculum vitae
- Short description of the work on 2 pages (DIN A4) with some meaningful pictures, if available (all as pdf‐file)
- Letter of recommendation from the tutor (to be sent directly to below mentioned e‐mail address)
