On July 16th, IntCDC Research Associate Ekin Sila Sahin presented at “3D Printing - Where Is the Journey Going? (3D-Druck - wohin geht die Reise?)”, an event organised by aed stuttgart e.V and the 3D Pioneers Challenge at Material Bank® Europe.
In her lecture titled “Bioinspired 4D Printing: From Material to Building Scale”, Ekin shared her doctoral research and discussed how 3D/4D printing technologies, together with computational fabrication methods, can expand the design space of self-shaping structures while addressing the functional and environmental demands of our built environment. The lecture was followed by presentations from other invited speakers and a panel discussion on architecture, sustainability, and emerging technologies.
