On Science Day, the University of Stuttgart showcases what sets it apart: excellent research that sparks curiosity and brings people together.
The Cluster of Excellence IntCDC was delighted to be part of the Science Day.
Despite the tropical heat, many families and interested individuals made their way to Science Day to learn about the cutting-edge research being conducted by the IntCDC Cluster of Excellence. Together with our IntCDC researchers, they explored the future of the construction industry and the cluster's approaches to achieving a more sustainable future in this sector.
Visitors of all ages gained valuable insights, and many questions regarding our cluster topics were answered. Through discussions and our exhibits, our research became visible and tangible to the general public.
The next generation of scientists created their own fibre-wound prototypes, gaining a hands-on understanding of fibre winding. This allowed them to explore a new material culture in design and construction in a playful way.
We would like to thank our researchers Carl Haufe and Olga Miller (ILEK), Shohei Mori and Haifan Zhang (VISUS), Otto Lindstam (ITKE), Harrison Hildebrandt and Christoph Zechmeister (ICD), Quynh Ngo (IntCDC), and Alice Hierholz and Charlotte Stein (ISYS) for leaving no questions unanswered and playing a key role in the success of Science Day 2026.
