The Science Day is the “open day” of the University of Stuttgart, which takes place on 25 June 2022. Hands-on experiments, lectures and impressions of university life will be presented on this day.
The Clusters of Excellence IntCDC and SimTech, IRIS, IZKT and Cyber Valley will join forces to offer a colourful and diverse programme for all ages in the SimTech building located at Pfaffenwaldring 5a.
For us at IntCDC, this day is all about the future of construction, and these are our questions:
- How can we build more sustainably in the future?
- What will architecture look like if we use materials only where they are really needed?
- What is the role of natural renewable materials in this context?
- And how do robots support this new approach in the building industry?
Learn more about the method of co-design and a new material culture in the field of design and construction. Learn about the advantages of fibre-wound building components and the types of buildings in which they are being used. Understand how robots can help us to manufacture these components and manually wind your own small fibre prototype. Discover new ways of using wood in construction with the help of computers and robots. Last but not least, see how new technologies can program the material properties of wood and thus use them in a targeted way.
Curious? We are looking forward to your visit!
An overview of the University's programme can be found in the Event app.
