The panels covered a broad range of topics: from forestry, wood utilization, and the evolving construction industry to AI and automation, cost-effectiveness, fire safety, and neighborhood development. In addition to traditional lecture formats, so-called “Speaking Corners” were offered for the first time this year. Here, following brief keynote presentations, attendees could engage in conversation and exchange ideas in depth.

Xiliu Yang (ICD) and Prof. Dr. Felix Amtsberg (Biberach University of Applied Sciences) led the Speaking Corner on the topic of AI and automation. After a brief introduction to their joint research at the IntCDC on human-robot collaboration, they engaged the audience in a discussion and exchanged views on the future prospects of the timber construction industry, drivers of innovation, and obstacles.
