Prof. Jasmin Schäfer studied Environmental and Civil Engineering at TU Munich and completed a postgraduate master’s degree in Heritage Conservation and Building Archaeology at TU Berlin. She earned her PhD from ETH Zurich, Institute for Preservation and Construction History, where she also led and contributed to several research projects.
Her research focuses on historic construction techniques from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, combining a technical and structural perspective with broader questions of planning and building processes. During her stay at IFAG, she establishes a working group in this field. In addition to her academic work, Jasmin runs her own practice and teaches at universities in Zurich and Liechtenstein.
We are pleased to offer all Early Career (EC) Researchers the opportunity to engage in an open experience exchange with the Visiting Professor. In this interdisciplinary seminar, two EC participants gave a short presentation of their work and discussed topics related to their own doctoral research with Prof. Schäfer and get insights into other possible perspectives to look at their research projects. Career issues have also been discussed.
